Downloading BI Desktop Tools

Depending on the products that you are eligible to download, you can download various BI desktop tools from the Get Started section of the Oracle BI EE "Home page", including:

Oracle Hyperion Smart View for Office — This tool lets you access and run Oracle BI EE analyses directly within your Microsoft Office applications.
Oracle Hyperion Financial Reporting Studio — This tool lets you design and present analytic data graphically. You can design traditional financial report formats such as cash management reports, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets. You can also design nontraditional formats for financial or analytic data that include text and graphics.
Oracle Essbase Studio Console — This tool lets you perform tasks related to data modeling, cube design, and construction of analytic applications.
Oracle Essbase Administrative Services Console — This tool lets you view, manage, and maintain Essbase Servers, Essbase Administration Servers, and Oracle Essbase Provider Services.
Oracle Business Intelligence Client Tools Installer — This tool lets you install the Business Intelligence Administration Tool, the Oracle Business Intelligence Job Manager, and the Oracle Business Intelligence Catalog Manager. You can choose either the 32-bit or 64-bit installation, depending upon your operating system.
Template Builder For Word Add-in — This tool lets you easily design RTF templates for use in published reporting. You can choose either the 32-bit or 64-bit installation, depending upon your operating system.
Analyzer For Excel Add-in — This tool lets you download the results of a report query to Excel and also to upload a spreadsheet to use as a report layout.

Note:

While you can also download Oracle Business Intelligence Add-in for Microsoft Office to integrate with Microsoft Office, it is strongly recommended that you download Smart View instead. (For information on Oracle Business Intelligence Add-in for Microsoft Office, see "Integrating with Microsoft Office Using Oracle Business Intelligence Add-in for Microsoft Office".)

To download a BI desktop tool:

Navigate to the Oracle BI EE Home page.
In the Get Started section, click the Download BI Desktop Tools link, then select one of the following options:
- Smart View for MS Office
- Financial Reporting Studio
- Essbase Studio Console
- Essbase Administrative Services Console
- Oracle BI Client Installer (32-bit) or Oracle BI Client Installer (64-bit), depending on your operating system
- Template Builder for Word (32 bit) or Template Builder for Word (32 bit), depending on your operating system
- Analyzer For Excel
The Opening BI Desktop Tool.exe dialog is displayed
Click Save the File. The Enter the name of file to save to dialog is displayed.
Specify a location to which you want to download the executable file and click Save.
Once you have downloaded the file, for:
- Smart View for MS Office, Financial Reporting Studio, Essbase Studio Console, or Essbase Administrative Services Console, first review "Part IX, Using Essbase With Oracle Business Intelligence" in Oracle Fusion Middleware System Administrator's Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition. Then display Windows Explorer and double-click the file that you downloaded to run it.
