Manage Favorites dialog

Use this dialog to organize and manage your favorite objects. Favorite objects are those catalog objects that you view regularly or want to view again at another time.

Note:

You cannot organize and manage your favorites in Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile. When working in Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile, you can only add an item to or remove an item from your favorites list. Your Oracle BI EE desktop and Oracle Business Intelligence Mobile favorites lists will synchronize when you log into either Oracle BI EE instance. Components

Category Tree

Use this area to browse for and select a favorites category. After you select a category, any favorite objects or subcategories included in the selected category display in the Selected Category area.

You can use this area to organize your categories by dragging them and nesting them into other categories or subcategories. You can use this area to create new categories and subcategories, rename categories and subcategories, rearrange the order of the categories and subcategories, and copy, paste, and remove categories and subcategories.

Selected Category

Use this area to view the favorites objects and subcategories included in the category that you selected in the Category Tree area.

You can use this area to organize your favorites by dragging and dropping them into categories or subcategories. You can use this area to create new subcategories, rename a category, rearrange the order of the objects in the category, and copy, paste, and remove objects from your favorites list.

Toolbar

The toolbar contains the following buttons:

New Category — Use this button to create a category. After you create a category, you can add your favorite objects to it by dragging and dropping them into the Selected Category area. Or, you can use the Category Tree area to rearrange categories and nest them.
Copy — Click this button to copy the favorite category or object and then paste it into a new location.
Paste — Click this button to paste the copied object into a new location. This button is enabled only after you copy a category or object.
Rename — Click this button to rename the selected category. This button is enabled only after you select a category. You cannot use this button to rename objects.
Remove — Click this button to remove the selected category or object from your list. Note that this option does not remove the item from the catalog.
Sort — Click this button to sort the favorites categories or objects in the selected category by either ascending or descending alphabetical order.
